PROGRAM
In-home Respite Program
CODA offers a quality in-home respite service that provides practical support
to people with disabilities and their carers. This service aims to assist
both the individual so they can remain at home, and support the family as
primary carers. The hours are flexible to meet the needs of the individual
and/or carer and are usually set for an appointed time on a weekly basis.
The hours of service extend from 6am - 8pm weekdays. Weekend support can
be negotiated but is dependant on availability of funding and/or support
workers. This support usually takes the form of personal care assistance,
however the carer may choose to have a support worker stay in the home with
the individual with a disability while the family take valued time away.
Domestic support is not a specifically funded service, however if it will
enhance quality time for the consumer and carer it can be negotiated.
